    hey guys,

I'm looking to do a 929 rear shock swap on my 4G VFR. I spoke with Jamie and was thinking of getting a remote preload adjuster installed on the 929 shock.

does anyone know whether any of the VFR models come with a remote preload adjuster so I can take the remote off of it and have Jamie put it on the 929 shock?

    thanks.

The VFR800 ABS model has the remote preload adjuster, but I do not think it would be removable and usable on the 929 shock. That would be a good question for Jamie.

do you know which year VFR800 ABS model was made?

this is what he had mentioned in his email to me:
"The standard preload mechanism on the 929 shock cannot be 'converted', but the remote mechanism from another shock can be assembled to it to gain this feature. My suggestion would be to find a later model VFR800 shock with the remote preload. "

so I guess the search continues for a VFR800 ABS model shock but I also wander if a CBR model remote can be attached to the 929 shock because those shocks are going for $40 on ebay.

    thanks!

I'm not sure what years they started making the ABS model, but I bought a 2007 off of eBay a few weeks back. I actually went online to Ronayers.com Ron Ayers Motorsports and looked up the part of the 2007 shock part number and compared it to the 2009 part number and found that they matched.
