I have a 98 vfr and have been wondering how much my suspension settings are affecting tire wear? I have recently cranked my preload up to their stiffest settings and also my rebound adjuster on the shock is adjusted to its hardest setting (or slowest) trying to get more stability for cornering. Will keeping my suspension set up stiff like this wear out my tires faster or does it not have any affect? Thanks
Setting up the front too stiff will slow down the turn in, its too bad there is no comp or rebound settings on the front forks.
The suspension is what makes your tires stick. But the less you ask from your suspension the more your tires have to make up for it. The best thing you can do is get a suspension set up tht is correct for your weight and riding style. Then you have he best all around. A decent suspension set up can be had for as little as $800. Or you can go full tilt on some $2300 setup.
