South LA CO and Orange CO riders. Any one know of any group that rides Wednesday nights. You can find a bike night just about every day of the week in LA but the night rides have just about died out. PLEASE HELP

...any of you guys interested in setting up a ride on a regular basis? Starting off with a small commitment, such as one Sunday per month?

JTC, I'd be up for it. A weekly Sunday ride would be something I can work into my schedule. That being said, currently all of my Sundays in May are already spoken for but starting in June the calendar is open.

    Cheers!

Leaving work at 0730 and I'm going to do a short loop up to Mt Baldy Rd, to Glendora Ridge Rd and down Glendora Mtn Rd. ...Saturday's are better for me, I'm pretty much a Zombie on Sunday Mornings due to having worked a 12.5 hour Graveyard Shift on Saturday Nights. (New Work Schedule) Unfortunately, 1100am Sunday's is my cutoff. However, its not uncommon for me to go home, sleep a few hours and be back out at 3pm or so, for a quick 90mile/3 hour loop through the Santa Monica Mtns.

Did some consulting works for years which required 90% travel. I'm working Local now so hoping to get out there again and get some riding time under my belt again.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend the R3 ride due to prior commitment but for those who are staying behind and want to do a quick morning ride to Ortega on Saturday, let's do it.

Ortega? Really? You need a dedicated crew with radio communication and check points to have any fun on Hwy 74. It can be done, and I have done it, but its a real PITA. Its basically a slab with high speed sweepers that aren't cool unless you're doing double or triple the speed limit... Nothing but death, tickets and/or impound come from Ortega. However, Harleys and custom Choppers are abundant as far as the eye can see...
Stick to the San Gabriel Mtns or the Santa Monica Mtns for some tight twisty that's knee dragging/peg scraping excitement at only 5mph over the posted speed limit. :soapbox:

Ah crap, there I go throwing my worthless 2 cents in on an innocent post from a guy who just wants to ride... My apologies :frusty:

I'll be staying behind this year but am up for a local ride this weekend! I too agree that the Ortega might not be the way to go. What about Big Bear or Lake Arrowhead? Ride up, break for lunch and head back. I am open to suggestions..... Viffer, my buddy lives in corona also. Another VFR rider! We could meet up out your way?
