Hello, just picked up a 1996 750F in the Appleton area. It has 20k on it. Picked it up for 2800, It does have a chip out of the fairing by the head light, any ideas on replacment front fairings or repairs?

    :welcome:

I am originally from Sheboygan County.

There is a couple cycle yards in your area, so I would check them out, or find a body shop that does plastic body panel repairs ( works on Saturns ).

    Here is a new one on E-bay: Honda VFR 750 F 94'-97' - FRONT FAIRING | eBay

Hey! Welcome!! I'm from Crivitz (bout an hour north of Green Bay). Enjoy the VFR. I can't help much with the fairing. All I know is that used ones for your bike (4th gen) are easier to find on ebay than used body work for 3rd gens. Good luck

Tons of info good and bad on repairing a/o replacing ABS fairing. I would suggest in the interim you seal up that area left by the missing piece with some silicone. There are electrical connections and wiring in that area of the module that you don't want to get wet either by washing the bike or getting rained on.

Since this happened, you might want to look into one of the Lexan shields manufactured by Ventura. Going by the damage and guessing, it looks like the headlight module itself might have been holed and replaced.. Big bucks for those puppys.

JBWeld. Shape it, sand it, paint it and forget about it.

Chewing gum? Usually a good selection of colors at one's local movie theatre. Take a small flashlight, some knee pads, a putty knife and a ZipLock bag.

I used JBWeld on this trip and can't say I was impressed with it's performance. Maybe I was expecting it to do something it was not designed to do. But it sure did not help in repairing a broken mirror. It held fine until I tried to adjust the mirror. It broke.

can be repaired with a donor piece of plastic and plastic weld. Will take some cosmetic filler and sanding along with paint. You can see the process in either of my build thread linked in my signature.

No small task but the chances of finding an undamaged front cowl on ebay are slim and none. Oh, and slim left for the day already. But if you can find one and it's several hundred bucks, you're still money ahead trying to repair and paint your old one.

Welcome to the forum! I lived in the Rice Lake area for 8 years or so. Still have property up there.
