is there another motor i can put in a vf1000r frame its the 85 model its just to hard to find the same motor is there something else that would bolt up and match without a lot of modding and would a 750vfr work in the 85 1000 frame without changing anything

you can find vf1krs all over junked out with good motors i have about 6 parts motors in the garage for my 2 vf1krs.. i wont let them go though i usually find bikes around the country and buy them cheap. last one i bought i got for 200 bux bike was all there except tank seat and fairings.. got it out of california just north of redding. had been setting for years.

as far as putting another motor in yes you can shoehorn nething you want into a frame granted you have all the systems for that motor to run. usually takes some fab of mounts and whatnot. maybe have to move it around a lil to get the positioning right to keep it from interfeering with everything you have to have on the bike to at least keep it looking like a vf1kr. in the past i have shoehorned ole yamaha 1ks into 600s kawasaki engines into harley frames aka the harlasaki. its not an easy task and takes tym to do bt as far as the 1kr motor being compatible with ne thing . idk maybe a 1kf would fit the bill. you can get a 700 donor bike that lil 700 will def fit in that beast of a frame just make sure you have all the mounts propper.. etc etc
