Hello all, new to my VFR (wife just bought it for my 40th, she's a keeper, bike and wife) Would like some info on what generation it is and well any info anyone has about the bike would be great. Its black 2002 VTEC 15,000 miles excellent condition and came with lots of luggage leathers and the like. Had just sold my GSXR K5 1000 as 2 things were going to happen 1, i would lose my life and 2, i would lose my licence (again) which at my age and responsibilities would be very similar to losing my life anyway. Bought a CRF450 for some green laning and track fun and then just didnt find the time to ride it so put it up for sale and it went very quick, it was stolen from my back garden so my wife being as good as she is decided to get me back on 2 wheels for my birthday and totally surprised me with the VFR which was my Uncles bike. I love the bike its great to ride, comfortable and not really lacking in the power game either at least not for UK roads. I will eventually get round to posting some pics but am at work on work PC which has none on it. The VFR is the ABS version 800cc so really just looking at some info on it really. The only issue i have with the bike at the moment is the gearbox doesnt feel too smooth but i think maybe a service is due, its not bad i just was expecting it to be a little smoother than it is. I would like to know if a PCIII is a worth while addition as i find you get a sort of blank spot with the revs when you change gear, almost an ecu/fuelling issue. Anyway i am sure i will have a lot more questions sooner or later. Thanks, Lee.
OK i have emailed the only pic i have from my phone to myself lol. As you see not the best pic in the world but it does still have the bow my wife put on it for me lol. Can't believe she didn't wrap it up
Definitely a 6th gen (especially with the VTEC). Mine came with a PCIII so I am not sure what it is like without it but it is definitely a nice thing to have. You can change the thing so easily to suit your daily riding needs. I have heard it smooths out the power band too...
Welcome, hang onto both of them (bike and wife) forever! Afraid I can't help you with any specifics, have a low-tech 4th gen.
Also have a 2002, love it. You may want to check and install some Heli bars-HUGE difference in comfort. Now you have to post a picture of the PERFECT WIFE. Hope she had a bow on as well :welcome: Oh, whats that on your fork ?
Thanks all, I had to look at the fork to work out what it was but it's just the light shining on the part of the mudgaurd that attaches to the fork. Asked the wife if she would pose with a bow on next to the bike but I have been informed in no uncertain terms that the bike can be taken away as easily as it was given, wife talk for NO! Sorry, I tried.
bah, go back and ask again, tell her you'll make it worth her while ya, on the bike even !!!!!!!!!!!!! then pictures-oh ya babe
