There doesn't seem to be a lot of info on this pipe so I figured I'd post this here. I shot a video and compiled it last night to give you guys a sense of what it looks like and what it sounds like from different perspectives. Enjoy

I like it! Always liked the tri-oval style mufflers.

Sounds good, nice design. Is it really just $88+S/H like on the website?

Yep... $88 and about $60 for shipping depending on where you live.

I wanted an audible pipe, but I was really drawn to this pipe for a few reasons:
    1) first the 5 sided design really looked like it was designed for this bike, very nice lines
    2) the alum finish matches the frame exactly
    3) Price is affordable
    4) the danmoto cans sound good from what I could tell on youtube
    5) it was different and not just another cheap round can...

    the negatives:
    1) not cheap to "send it back" if you don't like it
    2) the passenger foot peg doesn't quite fit flush with it, so the can rubs it but its not noticeable
    3) there is no rubber stopper as the stock can has so the center stand just rests on the mid pipe, but it doesn't appear to be an issue
    4) the mid pipe had to be caressed quite a bit to get it to fit into the can as the tolerances were so tight, but the upside is absolutely no leakage at the joints...

I am really happy with this pipe so far... the looks, the sound, the weight...

    Pc?

RocketJohn, do you have a Power Commander or similar with that can?
I have the same year bike, considering the same pipe, should probably add PC while I'm at it, and was wondering where to get the maps. Ideas?

I have a K&N filter but no Power Commander. The power delivery doesn't appear to need it. I don't feel like the power curve has any noticeable flat spots or any significant impact on richness or leanness. Maybe I should look into it when it warms up here in Colorado. I've put at least 2,000 miles on it in this configuration and haven't thought anything was required.

I think if you pursue the PC route, you should have a qualified tuner dial in a nice map with bike on a dyno.

RocketJohn, thanks for the PC info.
Must have missed my email alert, sorry...

I ordered the same Jisu for my '98. Is it true that they only added 02 sensors (that would need eliminators, I guess) in later models? I don't have access to the bike just now, so can't check for myself.

Got my Jisu with the db killer / baffle. The inlet on the can was a bit bent, could be from transportation though the packaging seemed fine. Contacted Danmoto and they advised me to try and bend it back with a piece of wood. That's exactly what I did and it seemed to work fine. They offered me a partial refund for the trouble, which is nice (I'll post back when I get it).

After that bending-and-cursing phase the installation went OK, though not perfect. The midpipe is a really tight fit and the clamp provided (gold color, weirdly) was too small, so I ended up using the original clamp which fit just fine. The can is also a very tight fit just under the passenger foot peg mount – it actually pushes against the mount if not twisted a bit lengthwise so that the lower part is closer to the bike than the top. I now have about 1mm clearance and the can is definitely not parallel to the bike. Judging from RocketJohn's video, mine is not that straight by a longshot. I got some minor scratches on the can trying to make it fit better, but they're not that noticeable. I contacted Danmoto to see if they can help me sort it out, waiting for their response.

As RJ mentioned, there's no rubberized contact point on the Danmoto midpipe to catch the center stand. I'm thinking of putting something heat-resistant on the center stand itself to make it not rub too much. I don't know where to get such material, though.

The sound is "throaty" as they say on the tin, that's for sure. It might be just me coming from the stock (heavy!) can but it sounds quite loud even with the baffle in there.

Take pics... let's see... Had I spent $1100 on an Akrapovic that had these fitment issues I would have been disappointed... but my cost basis is so low with this can and it looks and sounds so cool, I can live with a few of the "raw issues"...

I filmed this yesterday... decent sound file... need to point the cam up more...

Here's a crappy phone pic I took yesterday:
    vfr_jisu_tilted.jpg

I'll take better ones once I get 'round to it.

    That's true, I totally agree.
And just now, driving to work, I didn't feel it was that loud at all... It just sounds really good!

Nice vid, makes me wish I lived in a more mountainous region. Oh well.

Got a reply from Danmoto: apparently it's supposed to be tilted for ground clearance. Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter that much.
I asked about the missing rubber contact point for the center stand and the reply was that they intend they products for "sportive/race use" so such things are not on any of them.

I think I'll shop some oven silicone later today, wrap that on the center stand, hope it's not an eyesore and then that's it.
Overall, great pipe for a very reasonable money. And kudos to Danmoto for good communication. Still haven't seen my partial refund, though.

I didn't have an issue with it mounting parallel to the bike:

On my 5th gen project bike; I took a piece of 14ga or so sheet metal, drilled a hole in it for one of the bolts at the exhaust compression clamp, then formed it to "catch" the center stand. I'll have to take a picture....

STill have some work to do to make it pretty. This was just the 1st attempt to keep the chain from sawing off the center stand leg on the left hand side from riding up too high :)

Hope it gives you some ideas....

Thanks Tinker, that's a pretty good solution. I think I might copy you on that. Looks way better than my current "Ikea-silicone-kettle-holder-come-heat-resistant-bumper" set-up.

Danmoto hasn't given me the partial refund they promised. No surprises there, I guess.
