A few of my friends had RZ's back in the day, at the time they seemed cheap and plentiful. Should've stocked up..:eek:hwell:

I would love to but it doesn't live at my house anymore. The owner has indicated that it could be had for $3k if anyone is interested.

Yeah Jethro911, I have a 1981 Yamaha XJ750R Seca. I love that bike, I've been all over the place with that bike and it always gets me home. It's original, except for the mirrors and a little mini fairing I built for it. The ol Seca gets between 42 and 50 mpg with 68,000 kilometers on the motor and has plenty of power.

I also have a 1980 Yamaha XS850 Special that I bought from a buddy of mine for $250.00. It is all original with 38,000 miles and runs excellent. It sounds odd because it's a triple, but that adds to the coolness.

Its true, we're a older and nostalgic bunch. I bought my '81 RD350LC and paid dearly for it, but I had one 30 years ago in college and couldn't get it out of my head. When I ride it now its no where near as perfect as the VFR but it brings me back to being 18yrs old, really. And they won't be making 2 strokes anymore May RD.jpg VFR.jpg

Our dealership was located in cottage country north of Toronto. Back in the day, every weekend swarms of these RD 350 LC machines with Toronto squids on board would invade the peacefull countryside to raise hell. Quite a few didn't ride home! We would get calls from the local Police to open up and receive yet another bent and twisted Yamaha, rider condition unknown. Typically we would sit on the bike till someone came and picked up the wreckage. One weekend I was working in the shop and in rolls a tow truck with a Vision 550 swinging on a cable out back. Two young asian fellas were riding briskly through Algonquin Park when they broad sided a moose. It was a mess with moose hair wedged in every crack. I was asked to try to make it roadworthy for the ride back to Toronto. Later that afternoon their father showed up in some huge luxoliner to pay the bill and give the two boys shit. They were two of the lucky ones!

    Ahhh the memories.....

Oh yes, Jethro. The '80s! My second bike, after my 1980 Yamaha Rd400G (another one I wish I had now), was the god damn '82 550 Vision. I bought it in Feb '82 at the top of its hype in the magazines. By May of that year it was completly panned as a expensive, evil handling crap box, which it was. WORST bike I ever had. That moose probably had taste and couldn't stand the sight of it. Thats one bike I don't feel nostalgic for... But the '80's... Good times
