Hello all, I've been quietly taking in this forum for some time now before finally finding the jewel that I've been searching for, a 2000 VFR in YELLOW. I'm supposed to pick it up this weekend and already have a permanent shit eating grin all over my face.

This won't be my first trip into Honda V-Four land as I've previously owned an 83 750 Magna, as well as a pair of v65 (VF1100) Magnas. I always LOVED the engine in the bikes, but on those the handling was okay at best... of course in 1983 they were probably state of the art.

My cousin bought a 1998 VFR about two years ago and instantly I liked the bike. The timing wasn't right however as I had a freshly acquired BMW K1200RS that I liked (and still like) alot. The VFR will be joining the RS in the stable as the RS in my mind is a better LD tourer, but the VFR weighs about 200 lbs less and is MUCH more fun in the tight twisties... sweepers are about the same based on prior experience on my cousins bike.

So anyway... I'm excited and thought I'd share the news. Hopefully I'll get some pictures of my new baby and post them up sometime next week.

    Later,
    Matt

Congrats, the best decision you will ever have to make.

    You will not regret it.

    Pics of the New/Old ride

Well, here you go... these were taken on the 380 mile voyage home. My cousin was kind enough to ride down with me to get it so that I could properly retrieve it (ie NOT on a trailer ).

The below pics are of my two kids... 2000 VFR with 14k miles and my 2002 BMW K1200RS with 34k miles. Great to see them getting along . The backdrop for the pictures is Mabry Mill which is around milepost 180 on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

You are correct, the bags on the VFR are the Corbin beetle bags. They work nice back there as I hardly notice they are on the bike (much different then the BMW bags which are very noticable to me).
