I'm running through my first tank of seafoam thinking that it would cure the issue. I'm assuming a carb cleaning would solve my problem? I've used to have a Yamaha R1 back in '99 and of course I'm not expecting that kind of acceleration, but the bike seems pull pretty well to 8k rpm and it stops pulling as hard and it really acts like it doesn't want to be above 10k rpm. Is this normal? I hear it's supposed to get better as the rpms get higher. How many tanks of seafoam should I run before I bite the bullet and get the carbs serviced? Thanks.
Without a LOT more information there's no way anyone can help. Things like a) model year of the bike b) mileage on the bike c) is the problem new d) has the bike sat for an extended time recently .... Give us some help and maybe we can give you some help in return.
1993 VFR 750, w/ 16k miles. Not sure how long it sat or maintenance performed. I'm going to start with the air filter, fuel filter and spark plugs. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated. - Drew
