"does not run" is pretty vague. More detail on the symptoms is needed.

Many people fail to get the carbs cleaned properly the first 3 or 4 tries.

the jets are not what get clogged and prevent bikes from running right or at all.

there are air passages in the front and from the brass tube in the float bowl that is pressed in. This is the hardest one to get clean. You have verified that the plugs are firing?

I was cleaning my carbs too and was wondering . Are those supposed to flow air through cause if that's the case mine are plugged pretty good do you suggest any particular way of cleaning them out because i used the parts washer , got in there with safety wire , used the blow gun and ran em through the ultrasonic parts washer twice and still nothing ....

yes i removed the plugs one at a time to check the spark they where firing. so ill take them apart to look at the air passages thanks for the tip i think i got them clean but it dosen't hurt a second look or three

have you tried taking an eye dropper or something of the sort and pouring an ounce or two of fuel directly down all four carbs and see if it will fire and run for a few seconds?

When you pulled the plugs, were they wet? Black/fouled? There are clues there lad.

Mr. Tinkerinwstuff no but ill try that as well but i did check the pressed in brass tubes and they where cloged and two cans of cab cleaner later they where clean. but when i put the carbs back on the bike would back fire but still no running but that was the most noise i got from it since last winter. Mr. foothillryder they where clean they looked like they where firing. So gods of bikes any other ideas other than the eye dropper to try .

    try starting it w/ ether?

also, if its backfiring i'd say the carbs may not be in sync. Did you bench sync them pretty well?

Beware of ether as excessive use can damage cylinder/rings. Dripping a bit of fuel in as Tink mentioned is fine, but you need to verify that you have sparks at all 4 plugs first, which you did. Next you need to check that the carbs are filling with fuel. Open one carb drain screw and empty it completely. LeAVE THE SCREW OPEN AND crank over on startER or get it running, and fuel drippages should commence if tank, filter, pump, or gravity feed is working right. (( SAFETY FIRST !! Boys, as always, waat-evva u Mick Duhan.))
