Was wondering if anyone out there knows what front ends will fit on my 93 750 vfr..I want an inverted fork set up. I have heard that 05/06 600 rr fronts fit..but does anything else? Keep in mind..i want a blot on front with inverted forks and better than stock brakes. Thanks friends :)

I took a look at his stuff quickly..mainly his bike in his avitar. Looks like he had to do some milling and customizing to get his tl1000 front to work..sent him a post on his wall. IM looking for a bolt on type of set up. I red around and found that an 05/06 cbr rr will work..maybe a 929 will or a 900? i have no idea..trying to get the scoop. This is the first real dive into modern bikes for me..Ive only worked on old bobbers and cafe's before this.

May I suggest vfrdiscussion.com and search for frankenviffer. Research Safe-T also.

As long as you use a Honda steering stem that matches for viffer (RC51 SP1, 929, 945) and the approrpriate triple clamps (most use RC51 SP1 lowers, 929/954 uppers) you can use a variety of 50mm USD forks. I personally used 2000 R1 forks (pretty, gold) and you can experiment with calipers, disc's, etc, etc, I tried to maintain stock geometry for steering.

really thankfull for the info. I never really thought of going for a different co.'s 50mm forks for some reason. Im not sure if its the lack of funds or time, but I feel like as far as matching wheels, rotors and calipers to achieve proper stopping/front end predictability/ characheristics, going with a (stock suspension) is an easier option. BUUUT Im a sucker for a good deal, so if I can nab some bits here and there, and I can be sure they'll bold on..I'll go for it.

The CBR600RR is probably not a good choice because they are too short to fit on your bike. A CBR929 or 954 is better, even a CBR1000RR should work. You can also fit a GSXR600, 750, or 1000 front with some special steering stem bearings (All Balls should be able to help you there).

Front end swaps are much more involved that some people think. Be prepared to lots of measuring. They are also more expensive than you might realize - all said and done I would expect around $700-800 if it's done correctly.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the heads up, I didnt realize the fork tubes would be to short. I dont mind a slight drop in the front due to my height, but If its gonna mess up the geometry too much then shit! 929 it is...mind if I ask how you know the sizes..is there a sticky out there or maybe some sites that explain all the little subtle differences?

It's not about geometry, the problem is that forks which are too short would allow the front wheel to hit the head and/or radiator before they reach full travel. That's really bad and almost certainly a crash.

I don't know of any sticky. There are lots of possible combinations out there, really too many to clearly and concisely lay out in a forum thread. My suggestion is to start with something you are confident will work. The most popular front ends are RC51 and Yamaha R1. As mentioned, there are others that will work too. It's going to be a lot of "figuring out" so be prepared for that effort on your end.

Awesome; Didnt know the 600rr front was going to be that much shorter! I thought you ment a matter of an inch or so :p Im guessing Id have to do a lot of guess and check, but like you said; If I start with a sure shot i'll def. be better off. Just dont wanna mess with mix and match steering stem bearings
