Hey folks! I'm looking at picking up a new to me 2004 Interceptor and had a few questions.

The bike was stored by the beach and there's some rust on the forks. It's a small amount that looks like it will come off with a little emroy cloth or sandpaper. Should I be more concerned?

Also, I noticed there are these little pockets on either side of the rear seat. The current owner said that's how your GIVI bags attach. What's involved with that? I figured I'd get an SW Motech attachment for a top case. Are these for side bags? top case? Only GIVI? OEM?

Can't believe how damn comfy this bike is.

    Thanks!

First off, welcome to the world, and :worthless:

Second, if you can knock off the rust with a tiny bit of sanding, you should be good, as long as the forks aren't pitted.

Lastly, I can't say much about the 6g bags, but those pockets on the sides of the seat also hold the passenger grab bars.

I would recommend steel wool and WD-40 to start with the rust. The rear passenger handles go in those pockets or the luggage mounts there. :worthless:

I'm picking up the bike next week. Was just concerned about the rust. It's on some other stuff under there too, but the forks were my big concern.

So are the holes for a top case or side bigs?

Promise to post pics when I get the bike. Man, you guys are hard core with the bike porn!

Like Toe said the hole is for passenger graps, They should come with the bike and yes you can attach the OEM or GIVI bags to that (holes) if you wish. The bags run around $900 to $1200. YOu can find them used around $500 if you look hard. The folk can be clean up.......I am more concern about the recall on the harness and the service of the bike. Cosmetic can be fix

Nevermind about the harness recall. Found that info and checking the VIN.
