Hi all my name is Jordan and currently own a 1987 vfr 700 f2. Over the last several years my father has bought and sold bikes, which I rode with him on when I was younger. In summer 2010 I started to have a desire to own a bike of my own. Not long after I was given a 1981 KZ440 ltd. I promptly went through the carbs, replaced the plug wires and plugs. On Thankgiving day 2010 I bought a 1982 GPz750 for $500 which sat a for a couple years and needed to have the carbs cleaned and a new battery. Few months later my father saw an ad on craigslist for a 1987 VFR 700 for $500 with an 86 parts bike. I rode the GPz for a month (which is how long the permit lasts in NH, and is once in a lifetime here). Sold the GPz in June or July to fund getting the vfr repainted. Got my MC endorsement in august, was a very happy day for me. I have been riding ever since on almost every nice day. I love the V4 sound and the helpful people on this forum.

    Welcome aboard and good job.

My first bike ever was a GPz 750! Can't remember the year though...

Holy schnikey! That's the exact same color scheme and everything that I had. Talk about a flashback! I did have an aftermarket can on it though.

Was it a mac 4-2-1? The bike was great to ride other than having a loose cam chain. Sold the bike for $1200 to a guy who had several other GPzs.

My details are a bit sketchy at this point. We're talking back in 1987-91 that I owned this. I just remember flying down the Garden State Parkway to get to the shore and know how many chicks I could pick up since I had a bike, lol. Doing burnouts when leaving every toll booth (because there was always oil that would have dripped on the road from the cars).

If I recall, the exhaust was 4-2-1 because I seem to only remember having one pipe on it. But for all I know, that's the way they all were.

    I don't even know what a "mac" 4-2-1 is!

My story is like so many others - eventually settled down, didn't ride the bike, gave it to friend who moved on, and who knows where the bike ended up. 20 years later, I stumble across a 2000 VFR...

I guess its like a fist love - you never forget. When you posted up that picture, I had a flood of memories come back. Weird, but awesome! Glad you shared that.
