Ok , I was hanging out at the local Sonic for Bike night and I met these guys that were pretty kewl. Of course, I had the only VFR there. Most were Cruiser and Squids all in all about a hundred or so bikes taking up all the stalls and most of the cement other than one lane for traffic to move through.

So any way back to the guys I met. One of them, Roberto is officially the only person I know that has traveled 250mph on a bike and it's GPS confirmed. In fact his Spedometer only went to 180 so he took it out and only has his GPS on the bike. Here is what he rides:

    CIMG0034.jpg CIMG0035.jpg CIMG0036.jpg

That's right. You see it, A Ducati 748 Turbo. The tubo has PVC tubing and hose going back straight into the intake through a modified air box. He seaid when he hit 250 the bike started shaking and he shut it down immediately.

    Unbelieveable.....:vtr2:

I seriously doubt that he hit 250 on that. I've been around speed trials up close and personal and 250 is one HUGE nut to crack. Makes a good story though.

How would one be able to falsify a GPS record? I personally did not see it but he had about 50 wtinesses who saw his GPS Top speed recorded in his log. What vehicle travels that fast that he would lhave access to?

Not sure what you mean. I posted it last night. The first time I saw the bike was earlier that evening.

wow! maybe he could go 275 if he had used 45's instead of those 90 angles. I bet schedule 80 would handle the heat better. my heat gun bends that schedule 40 at about 400 degrees. Amazing.

LOL. I never even thought about that. Ever since my son was born on that day, I always regarded it as a regular day.

Just a suggestion. You could get a GPS reading in an aircraft could you not?

Yes - I guess you could. Something tells me that he is not that cunning or devious to pull such an elaborate hoax just to show off in front of a bunch of guys, at a Sonic of all places. If you saw him yourselves, you might know what I mean. Maybe he should just do it again to prove he really did do it. If he lives, I'll report back with more evidence. Until then, I guess we will never know.
