Michael, you live in Hawaii! I am jealous! I will trade you ;)

Honestly though, thank you. I knew it was a decent deal but good to know the VFR community is so awesome. Makes it even more worthwhile.

"I love your enthusiasm".....I came back from ridding and seen your post. Your like a baby at Christmas, the exact way I feel every time I take my 750 out. Wait till you learn to lean that amazig bike of yours in the turns.
But as some have said, or I'll put it my way.

She's like a wife; Respect her cause she does have some power. Care for her cause she'll always look good in your eye's, Enjoy her at the same time cause she'll always give you a fun ride.

so I have some semi bad news, I was riding the other night and some high school girl was in opposite lane of traffic with a turn signal, she slowed down so i continued. Then out of no where she turned in front of me, I tried to go left around her and lost control. She said she did not even see me, but it seems as she was preoccupied with a boy in the car. I fractured my wrist, and got some bruises. I had just went and spent 700$ on a new helmet, gloves, and a good jacket...thank god. the bike didn't get too messed up, it was a 25mph zone and I was going 20 when it happened. Just needs new fairing and windshield from what I can see? She did have insurance so dealing with that right now...really sucks. thankfully she admitted 100% fault right away and to the police.

Funny, my second bike ever is an 86 VFR700, a white F2 model. Within 2 weeks of riding it, a car coming the opposite way turned left right in front of me as well. In the middle of the day, but with no signal. Just out of the blue and quick. I think I locked the front brake as it's way stronger than I'm used to and the road was really rough. I went down, just barely missing the car. They took off. Luckily I was only doing 30 or so and wasn't hurt too bad. Well enough to ride it back home.

I decided to desensitize the front brakes until I got a new stickier front tire and more confidence in braking. I replaced the hollow caliper bolt on the right side with a solid one thereby deactivating the right caliper. That helped a lot.

I hope the experience hasn't soured you to bikes. It sure hurts your confidence when people just pull out in front of you like that. For a couple of months afterward I had several folks pull out in front of me or else try to. It feels like your invisable. Maybe these VFR's ARE invisable? You just have to be extremely defensive and learn to anticipate stuff like that.

To this day, I still prefer riding late at night or by myself with no idiots around me.

So did the insurance company fix your bike?
    Are you still riding it?

Thanks for the reply man, I still love to ride but same as you...during night or when there aren't so many people around. I also try and stay away from any low income areas....as the girl ended up not having insurance. My uninsured motorist covered the accident and salvaged the bike because the fairing/plastics were too expensive. I bought the bike back as it runs the exact same and I actually just put it online for sale because I only get to ride it once a week because of school.
