    Hey,

I have been without a VFR for 5 years or maybe even more. My ZX6 and Nighthawk were sold this year and my wife new I was going to replace them. On Saturday I visited with a guy named Paul, who is selling his 2000 VFR and is a lister and went to WDGAH. Such a small world of those who ride one of the greatest bikes. My wife asked me if I was settling getting this bike. I had been looking for a pearl white or an 07 RWB....but this just seemed like too good of a deal to pass. Never owned a 5th Generation, but gear driven cams and FI......I let you know 6 months from now if I settled or not....but I have a feeling I'm going to love this new ride. Looking forward to next Saturday when I pick it up. Can't wait for WDGAH this year and getting back on the road with some of the crew.

Ive put 850 miles on my 5th gen in one day after a 500+ mile day. It's not the lightest or fastest bike, but it can do just about anything you could want. Great all around bike. Another point- 5th Gen requires little maintenence. Fill her with gas and go!

ok, k1200rs sounds like the one I rode, then. Here's my take on it: Big, heavy, smooth. To me, the VFR is just as smooth, and you sit more down into the bike rather than up on it if that makes any sense. Both are hevey bikes IMO, but they both seem to be on rails to me. The very is more flickable but it's no SV650 for sure.

Reg71, not sure if your question was to me or not, but yes, I struck a deal with Denver on this list and am picking up his 5G 2000 Yellow VFR next week, complete with Beettle bags. I'm stoked and glad that this one is pretty much stock, so I can get to know the bike in it's factory form and then, few months down the line, decide what if anything I want to change.

Thanks everyone for your input. I'll be a regular list guy now that I am (or will be very shortly) a VFR owner.

    Jm

    Awesome. Congrats on the purchase.

You'll soon know what everyone else here knows, but few admit: The 2000 VFR was not only the best looking, but it was the fastest. (That's a good way to start a little war on your opening thread! :) )

Best of luck, Jm. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

By the way: I'm 6' 2", 240#, and have a chronic bad back. I can do about 400 miles in a day, but not bad considering my back. I also have no issues in getting the wheel off the ground in first, and occasionally in second. Not bad for a fat old guy. If you need more than that, visit
