My bike (1990vfr) has been running great for over 1000 miles this season so far, but recently, when hot, it has a bad surging/missing issue when hot. When this is happening its hard to get around. Sometimes also happens without downshift when I roll on the throttle. I am going to change plugs soon, but the downshift aspect of my problem makes me think that isn't the issue. Does any one know what this might be?

    Thanks,
    Todd

Usually surging is a lean condition. Look for leaks on the carb boots (spray carb cleaner on them while running). If it revs higher it could be your boots. Check all vacuum lines for seal or cracks. Check exhaust for leaks.
