I am new to the site and I have a new to me pristine 2004 VFR800. Specs, mint, one owner (was a female), stock, 23k km. The 1st thing I did was to cut off the stock cans and had a pair of Yoshimura Carbon TRS cans from a 07 GSXR 1000 welded on. The next thing will be to powdercoat the rims Gold and add some gold vinyl to the belly pan to make it look like the 2002 ZX12 SE.

    What do you think?

Nice job on the change of pipes. Now I know what pipes to get to change my stocks to Yoshimura. But, why would you want to make a VFR look like a ZX12SE?

The choice for the yosh Tri-oval was simple.. I liked the shape, as it mimics the OEM muffler and I have always loved carbon! I found a used set of cans on Ebay, so it was fate! The tricky part was using the stock mid-pipe, so that I would have a working dual exhaust. I cut the 2/3's of the stock cans off with a sawsall and then I cut back the OEM end caps as much as possible before using a bench grinder to smooth it out. After that the bike had a date with the welder. All in I'm into these pipes for about $450 (installed), and I have a unique bike! I'm a happy camper.. now if only this snow would stay away so I could slap insurance on it

As for the ZX12 SE comment.. I just like the Black and Gold look to that bike!

I've already purchased a 46L top box and a rack, so I'm getting stoked to do some touring!

Oh and a sound bike will be posted very soon!!
