doesn't need that many days. More to do with the amount of time I'm able to steal away to play in the garage. I figure it will take a week for the painter to get my stuff back. I need the front cowl finished so I can figure out where to stuff the electrical components up front. Need to haul the whole thing up to the custom Tubes N Hoses shop to get one of the metal lines custom fabricated. Finally, locate the seat release and have a custom cable made.

And last of all - The whole thing goes to the custom seat guy to make the stock seat into a comfy touring seat and possibly change the shape up front slightly to block view of the battery and wiring underneath. On the 6th gen there's the metal filler plates I think that go in the space. But with my reshaped subframe I I just need a minor mod to the seat pan to take care of it.

And your project manager will give me all the time I want in exchange for beggin-strips. Crooked bitch from the Teamsters Union

or this could work with an adapter to the brake pedal to change the clock angle of the lever and a pressure switch for lights:

There is a reason that there is a heat shield between the brake master cylinder & the exhaust pipe ! The brake actuator link may work, but where would the reservoir go ?

I've discovered the heat shield will not fit without trimming the rear portion down because the mid-pipe now interferes with it. I'm thinking of not using the shield, installing header wrap to mitigate some heat, and the reservoir will either be mounted forward inside the right side fairing or still be up under the seat.

No, just an attempt to be funny. I was forced to be a member of Sheet Metal Workers back in the '90s. Not an attempt to offend anyone or have my knees broken.

Have you kept the CBS ? if not have you looked at an MX combined reservoir & master cylinder ? Something like CRF 250/450 have ?

I have been working hard to maintain the linked brake system thru this mod. Have not used it yet but I believe the system is well suited to my riding style.

Using a master with integral reservoir is a real possibility but all I've found thus far have a piston diameter of 1/2" and are for a single piston brake caliper. The VFR has two pistons and a master with 11/16" diameter. Therefor a 1/2" master would need 2x the stroke length to move the same volume of fluid (approximately). Which means 2x the pedal travel for the same braking as a stock bike.

My other concern with integral reservoir in this application is the thermal expansion and small reservoir right next to all the header pipes. I suspect I would get longer fluid life between changes by having the bulk of fluid stored elsewhere.

I do not know the right or perfect answer. But if I can at least get something working, I can always improve on it.
