Anyone have..

Anyone have a spare fairing bolt (or two)? I was going over the bike and noticed that one had vibrated loose and is gone. Not sure if I bought it that way or not..

 

these are very cheap at your honda dealer, they are a standard metric pan head, recessed hex bolt, take one into you local indutrial supply and they should have it.

I have fastenal up here bringing in some shorter ones as these are way to long, and I just dont like trying to clean the threads of bolts after ive cut them, not to just save $6

 

Good idea.. I have a Fastenal a few minutes down the road..

 

If you first put a nut of the appropriate size on the bolt you're cutting, when you unscrew the nut it automatically chases the threads back for you. A little chamfer with a bench grinder after cutting makes for a nice clean job too.

 

You could also order a pack of spares, probably for about the same price as one or two Honda ones, from Bolt Motorcycle Hardware: Factory style metric fastener kits, bolts, nuts, rivets and more!
