Just thinking it's usually the cheapest performance mod - I'm unlikely to require the 150mph (or whatever) top speed but do like acceleration. Does it carry you through the vtec transition easier?

I like what it did for my '98. I went -1 on the front.

No Vtec on my bike so I can't comment on that.

I liked it but went back to stock after the super charger. Aboot the same with the V-tec.

I kinda like the final drive ratio on my 07. wish the 5th and 6th gears were a lil taller to make cruising better in terms of miles/tank but otherwise I can still get the front up in 2nd and if im paying attn I can do it in 3rd so im keeping it stock, unless someone can give me a very good reason to change them and they would need to back it up by proof.

Thanks, supercharging would be cool but a mite more expensive so I ll dry one less tooth first. I found with other bikes that it didn't actually effect the economy but as the vtec switches from two to four valves I guess mileage will suffer a tad- still acceleration is where it's at :)

Sometimes it's better to change the rear sprocket rather than going with a smaller front sprocket. Mostly due to potential chain swing arm clearance issues, plus there's more adjustment with rear sprockets due to the number of teeth you can increase/decrease. Here's a website that might help figure out which way to go, unless you know for sure you want to go with the -1 on the front.

Gearing Commander: Motorcycle Speed, RPM, Chain & Sprockets Calculator

08 is new to me and I will leave it alone for now. Went two up on the rear with my 85 a number of years ago and it changed rpm's, up 500 at any given speed and the mpg dropped 10%.
