84 vf500f- ok to run with no fuel pump????

    Bought this bike with blown motor, bought a low mile motor for replacement-on inspection i find no fuel pump or relay or associated plumbing under the left cover- can you operate these bikes successfully with no pump?

    Yes, IIRC Mr. Daugherty has told me multiple times that they actually ran BETTER with a gravity feed.

    Mine also came on gravity feed, and I was shocked when I didn't find a fuel pump, so I know your worries. Make sure your fuel line has enough vertical drop to constantly feed fuel into the float bowls even under acceleration. Mine was routed too flat and sometimes the bike got starved.
