1986 vfr 750 & vfrchuck

Thanks for posting that heads-up on the fairings, but I actually got the bike done anyway despite my unfortunate dealings with VFR Chuck. I just had the fairing professionally repaired and painted and will post pics soon. It was a 9K mile Nevada bike to begin with, so it is basically perfect apart from the original owner low-side damage. I just put on some blue HEL brake lines and NOS Cobra F1R slips ons, so it looks and sounds cool. It's really nice to finally own a bike I had wanted since high school!

 

Guys..Its Fraud what VFRChuck is doing and yes you can do something about it. Most states enacted laws covering online sales because of the popularity of ebay and CL..pickup the phone and call the local sheriffs office in his county and call the local DAs office. They will be more than happy to help you. In most states the dollar amount may make it a lower class felony. Do something about it! Right now he has listings all over ebay and we all know he's not gonna deliver. Ive heard all the crap also.."oh hes a busy guy..oh he has a family..oh hes just a lil weird". Hes a thief plain and simple..just because he can make a nice fairing shouldnt mean he can screw people always. Sorry my 2 cents.

 

last post listed his number as 740-474-9256. I bought an upper from him a while back. got a little concerned after about 3 wks and gave him a call. He apologized and I had it a week later. See if that number is still good and call him. I thought he was a decent guy myself.

 

y'know, i cant help but to sometimes sit back and wonder just how difficult it is or would be to fab some of these parts that Chuck does. every time i see a body parts thread, SOMEBODY is just downright furious about their experience with Chuck, not that i really blame them. I'm sorry, a year is just ridiculous, and I wouldnt tolerate that crap either.

so on the actual point....what is required to do something like he does? what kind of process is involved? is it really expensive to start up? making these parts in one's garage and helping out so many pissed off viffer owners really does sound to me like a worthwhile endeavor, I just have NO idea where in the world to start (or if it would be a financially sound idea to begin with).

ideas? suggestions? criticisms that i'm just downright insane???

 

e mail Ben@beasleycomposites.com and ask them to start making a street upper and a rear cowl. I'll bet with enough requests it'll happen.

 

rc, the picture on thier site has the light cut out , but nothing else appears drilled or cut. still, even if the didn't have the cut out and can deliver , this is the way I think I would go, considering there are poeple asking 200 bucks for side fairings that are 20 plus years old with scratches and breaks. I am willing to drill my own holes for 138 bucks....

 

well I'll be damned, they are showing a VFR upper with the cut out for $120! I was positive the only one they showed was a race upper but hell that's fantastic. let us know how the whole process goes if you make a purchase, (ie) lead time, quality, fit etc.

 

It is fun that he has new stuff on ebay when he still owes many of us things. I'm going on 15 months for two lowers. I did contact the government fraud department. But I don't really have any hope of seeing my money or my panels. I have moved three times since then and have sent him I'll say..... 50 e-mails. I hope Karma works because this guy has it coming big time!

 

complain to ebay, enough people complain, he'll get deactivated.

 

Re: setting up to compete with Chuck-- Years ago - (mid 90s?), Andrew Reveles and his GF, who used to work for Chuck, started Perfection Fiberglass, making VFR parts. I don't know why, but it didn't work out. I imagine the number of people who call, email and pester is 100x the number of people who actually buy. Maybe that's normal, but for a couple of people with real jobs and a life, I imagine it's difficult to stay motivated.

Chuck's father is Charles Crites, a big deal in the 60's Ford restoration world, specializing in Galaxies and Thunderbolts, iirc. Look him up on the web and hassle him about his son. Don't know if that'll help, or if it'll make things worse, but if you've already waited a year or three, how much worse can it be?

LOL google Mr Crites Jr and you'll find theres some pretty pissed off women from some local dating sites in his area..obviously the guy has more issues than taking folks money for parts and not delivering. Buyer Beware! for the GABILLIONTH time......

I think an email to VFRchuck stating a case number with the sheriffs dept would get his attention but by that point it is to late....
