Partial gutted exhaust muffler. Sounds is ok will try and get a sound clip/video Will do write up about it. It kinda has a bit of raspy noise tell it warms up then it sounds even but that is probably part the fast idle start up. Look is pretty much stock.

Oh on another note anybody with aftermarket exhaust notice a slight bit more buzz in the foot pegs after you did it?

Geeze, hope it's just the poor quality of the cell phone but, I'm sorry to say, it sounds like poop.
Hope it wasn't a lot of work...Is it reversible? There's always aftermarket

I've thought of doing somthing like that but I like my two brothers carbon so much now that I want to keep the OEM silencer incase the EPA nuts come after me some day. I'll have to get a sound clip they sound pretty deep and really growl now after serveral thousand miles on them. I like the look of the OEM silencer and miss that look but there's no going back now. I wouldn't worry about what others think it's your ride if you like it then it's a home run. Didn't notice any buzz in the foot pegs but I'm coming from an 95 flstn Harley with really loud Vance & Hines pipes and the EVO shake.

I think that the other benefit of going with an aftermarket besides the sound is that it opens up the view of that single swingarm. I think that is the prettiest part of the bike.

Did you go for the large TBR can or the small one? I had a similar can on my 4th gen and loved it, now looking for something for the 1200. Also, will it work with the factory bags?

I don't have the side cases, so I'm not sure, might have to have a good muffler shop bend the exhaust pipe down and out just a little which shouldn't cost very much. I might get the side bags some day but I would only use them on longer trips and I have a nice backpack that I strap on the pillion which works just fine.

Post double so I will add that I like the side cases a lot but for $1,100 dollars I would be looking at them sitting on a shelve instead of on the bike to justify buying them but they do look very nice?

Appreciate the project. It sounds pretty good to me (factoring in what you can judge by a video). Thanks for posting this, I look forward to hearing about how you did it.
