Hi all I am the proud owner of a brand new used 1985 VF700 Sabre, My 17 year old son got me in to this mess. He found a 1974 CB360 he wanted to get and fix up and the same guy had this Sabre sitting in the corner. He bought the 360 and on the way home my son say's if you had a bike we could ride togeather. A couple of weeks later called the guy and he still had the bike, so 600 bucks later I am a Sabre owner! Nice bike it runs good just needs a little TLC. I will be picking your brains once in a while...Last road bike I owned was a 1976 Honda 750-4 Super Sport. Looking forward to riding with my son, messing with my new bike and bugging you guys!!! I will try and get pictures going soon. Have a good one....Dan

I for one believe you in that you bought yourself a bike. I am not so shallow to insist on pictures to prove your word. You are welcome here. But to post any further comments....well that required pix.

Welcome to the site DAN475. Your son is the one that got you into this mess, tell him to get you out of it. Best you put the hard word of him to deal with the pics. In the mean time dont panic to much, I'm sure if you ask a question without pics some kind hearted member will want to share thier endless VF knowledge.

Randy can also help you belly up to the bar and is an expert on leaky jackets and you don't even need to ask him.

I'm glad i kept out of this one.................until now.

People are mostly friendly here except me, but there's nothing to be proud about owning an antiquated cruiser bike from 1985 even if it's a V-4.

Aim higher, Poppa ! Bikes from the 90's and 00's are so much, much better. Cycle tech improved tremendously over the years, and antiques are fine to look at but not so great on the road where it's YOUR ASS !

Money always matters, but newer is always better.

I have a wife and 3 kids.....20 year old daughter in collage 17 year old son and a 12 year old daughter. All 3 still race motocross and all 4 seem to need something that involves money quit offten.I was happy I was able to get something that didn't have pedals on it!!!

Although I love my 83, and am having a blast performing this "reanimation", I secretly lust for a 2nd or (gasp!) 3rd gen Interceptor. Both my boys will be done with college and grad school in another year...maybe then my project will be finished and I'll be able to move up!
