I gutted the Exhaust on my stock cans. I love the sound but I would like a little more differentiation. Looking for opinions on this setup. Replacing the Stock mufflers with angle cut tips. Here are 2 clips from youtube.

YouTube examples are too loud for my liking. Your gutted exhaust sounds good.

Thanks Doug. I just want a more personalized look ya know. It's tough. I have a seperate exhaust so I could easily revert back if it is to loud.

I'm with Doug. Those wide open megaphones are just too much. The gutted exhaust sounds pretty throaty with just enough bark.

I third that, WAAAAAY to loud unless your 18 , then maybe it sounds GREAT. I would think any thing that loud would deff. atract the fuzz, which is not good. Fix it ticket---JMO

Personally I prefer the gutted can sound. Not sure what the laws in WA are for loud vehicles, but I get tired of all of the Harleys here in CA that are just too loud. I know the "loud pipes save lives" speech but I think most motorist are more annoyed by the sound than anything. My wife who lost most of hearing cringes when these HDs roar by, so that should tell you something.

    Cheers

I'm generally a fan of unrestricted exhaust systems, however those open pipes just don't do anything for me. The VFR has such a throaty roar it's really a crime to make it sound tinny. I do like the gutted stock cans. Seems like a set of stock cans with a little stuffing to limit the rattle would be ideal.

Thanks everyone for your feedback! I Do like the sound of my Fully gutted cans for sure... I just dont really like the looks of them, they are so long and bulky. I don't know if you all watched my gutted can video but I know they all sound about the same. I am torn, I already lopped off the cans of the extra exhaust. hmmm. Maybe I will just have to invest in an entire exhaust system instead.

Anyone ever manage to remove the cat? Currently am considering removing the cat but will it effect the O2 sensors?

I don't like just gutting the cat. You end up with a weird expansion space in the middle of the exhaust system.

I say to either buy cat-less headers or completely cut out the cat and build a custom X-pipe.

Jose thats what I was thinking to remove the cat totally and weld a pipe to make it straight through while exterior wise still looks like the cat is still intact. Its illegal here in country to go cat-less.
