Alright so here is my progress so far. For those of you that read my last post, the painter tried to pull a fast one and pass off a solid red for candy red. The total price dropped to $500 and they are applying some extra decals and a free tune up for my bike. But, this whole project has been a head ache. Problems here and there. Here is a teaser. The painter threw my well nuts away on my fairings so they ordered new ones, that's why this pic is only the back half. I couldn't fit the corbin seat with the 6th gen tank and the rear cowl together... So, I used the oem seat.

Was your paintwork through a Honda dealer? If so, out them. Kind of figured you got hosed on that candy color.

From the pix, it looks like the paintwork came out well even though it's not candy.. Gotta go with Toe. That is one bigass decal.. Put a snorkel on your ride and you might be mistaken for a unicorn..;)

Maybe get that painter to shoot out your front wheel too..Just my .02..

I like that Red paint! It looks like it's still wet, nice.
I have been considering a similar wing design for my 2000 when I get it ready for paint.
Don't know wether to paint the graphics on or decal it. Let us know how the decal app goes.
I've done some big decals on cars but they seem a lot easier than the complex curves on the bike.
    Can't wait to see it

A good primer for painting small unpainted or stripped ABS parts is Krylon Fusion.

Alright. I took a few pictures yesterday without the side markers. I painted the exhaust red with VHT header paint. Well, it was red it burned off... ='( I followed the curing instructions from VHT too. Also I have painted the side markers (not pictured). No decal application yet.

I have the Zero Gravity double bubble in light smoke. I haven't rode too much so I can't tell if there is a big difference from stock.

I got the decal from ebay, though I don't recomend the product itself because its not exactly perfect.

I think its too much red for my taste. But, it definitely needs refinishing. So, maybe.

That should look really nice when it's done.

You can never have too much Red! :heh:

Do you plan on color matching the dash panels?

(Might just be my computer but they look a little dark compared to the rest of the bodywork.)
