87 vfr700f2 rear shock ...adjuster removed ..oil in the chamber?

    my rear shock is nasty looking ...mouse pee ...wanting to replace it a guy has one from a 87 f2 but he removed the adjuster from the shock ,i figure there is oil in the top ,,if the oil all came out can it be refilled and the adjuster be reinstalled?.....and never buy brake pads from ebay none will fit i just ordered a new stock oem set of nisan pads for my like new 87 vfr700f2 wasnt cheap but i hate brake dust on the white wheels..anyway what say u about the shock with the adjuster removed ? gregg in ohio

    Yes, the remote preload adjusters have fluid inside. They are very difficult to refill and bleed though. If you have a good adjuster on another shock it can be swapped over if you have the right equipment.

    so im kinda screwed without the proper equipment?? guess ill look for another one thats not been fiddled with..thanks gregg
