Okay, so on my Hawk GT I had a Corbin backrest. It seems to be very similar or identical to ones that will fit our Corbin seats. Is there truth to this? Is there a "generic" Corbin steel arm that fits into a majority of their seats?

Thanks guys. TC: Do you have photos? Do you know if it will fit a 4th Gen Corbin seat? I e-mailed Corbin to see if they were all universal. The Corbin seat I had on my Hawk GT has a very similar, if not identical, mount to that of my VFR's Corbin.

Lets see if I have this right? PA, who may or may not be a real fireman or EMT wants to know if a Corbin backrest like the now MIA Honda Hawk backrest fits his VFR. He emailed Corbin and since he is here asking questions that nobody seems to understand or forgot about because of the inanity of even buying a Corbin in the first place, kinda shows nobody gives much of a shit except Google..

I'm sorry your weeks have to fly by and really glad I can help you with that. I guess you could say I have your back (rest)

Notice that I didn't edit this post but to further explain, I don't do guilt trips or fall for that middle school level not even, Psych 101.

If you were cool, you could have written instead of the banality of making your morning brighter, a horrid cliche at best, maybe the entire lyric to "You Light Up My Life" .

I love when my weeks fly by. Nothing wrong with that. I wasn't joking about making my morning brighter. I laughed when I read your posts. No cliche discussion is required.

Many thanks. When and if you find that universal backrest, bolt that sucker on your bike then call whoever thought they were teaching you diffusion techniques and get a refund. If nothing else partial amortization is a possibility.

This desire of wanting and enjoying weeks "flying by" is perhaps a manifestation of a deep seated need to change jobs, women or motorcycles. Is schlepping lighthing really that boring or uninjoyable? YIKES!

I own a Corbin and there's nothing inane about it. But it doesn't have a backrest, so maybe it is. Who am I to judge.

Hopefully you can find somebody here who really knows if all those backrests are the same. ;) Saw a dude one day catch his foot in one of those and busted his ass trying do a John Wayne.

So where lies the difference between judging and subjectivity? Best way to buy a Corbin is through a dealer. That way if they send out a POS, the shipping is on the dealer. I had Corbin try to make a kickup seat for my BMW. Mine has steel a steel pan and fibreglass shroud. they sent it back using drywall screws to secure the pan to the shroud. Not a good thing. ...and yes another unabashed pitch for my buddy Rich O'Connor of Rich's seats in WA. See what he did on his site under vintage. Yellow and black mit Krauser..
