pos. reg/rectifier fault

Hi. all, can anyone clear this issue understand that after start up display goes blank few min. later trip zeros and clock resets to default 1 am. pos. rec/reg.? battery 12.75 idle for over a week 2hr. charge holds 13.75 start up at tic over battery 14.2 lights on or off approx 5thou. 13.7 lights on or off don,t want to ditch reg It,s a sun make appox. 4years old if o.k. many thanks

 

check all the connection blocks and grounds first

 

Hi. thanks for the reply maxredline, traced the fault to the circuit at the back of the instrument panel " battery and the ignition feed strip " corroded away spice wire in job done saves a costly replacement cluster
