OK, so I'm just A LITTLE jealous. If I had the cash I would probably get some pipes just to get rid of all that weight. Ouch on that SoCal comment;(--------- cant beat the roads out here IMO

Never ridden there, but I would imagine there would be more twisties between the coast and the mountains. Around here the only good rides follow the Mississsippi, which are nice, but I'm still a few miles from there. Other than that, the Black Hills are the nearest hot spots. Didn't mean anything by the comment it's just my opinion.

OEM 6th gen exhaust was like 25lbs as I recall. Plus the header pipes and collector.... significant part of the bike

I never put the stock system on a scale.

But if I read what Tink posted correctly (which is NOT a guarantee), then -

(UPS said that the shipping weight of the system was 13lbs, so take off 1lb for the box and packing crap)

    - that means I shaved off 13lbs! I'm OK with that.

thought I had noted the weight in another thread but appears I did not.

I still have them sitting on the floor and will have to reweigh them. I was sure they are very close to 25lbs.

GUJ, your considering in that "savings" the weight of the box, wrappings, heat paste, etc etc. I weighted the TBR box as it came (5.7 kg) and then the stock exhaust in the inside TBR box with the rest that came in it (so same container weight) --> 11 kilos. So the difference comes to 5.3 kilos (11.7 lbs). I quote 6 kilos because I removed the side panniers' brackets as well.

Who said they were working?? They were just hanging out :cheersaf:

    Cheers!

I would bet UPS rounded up to 13lbs. Subtract the 1lb (guess-timate) on shipping stuff leaves the TBR system at 12lbs. I never weighed either system, so I can't split hairs over 11.7lbs and 12lbs.

    25-12=13lbs savings

    We are in agreement!

Jumped on the scale again with this anchor.

20.2lbs with all heat shields bolted on and the clamp.

sorry I was a little off before but you still have a weight savings well worth the effort.

Just got back from UPS, they said the stock system (cat-back) weighed 22lbs.

I was getting it quoted for a possible new home in GA. Now I'm wondering if the scale at UPS was accurate.

Duc- Taken it out a hand full of times (just around town), and rode it to work once (been too rainy/ cold the past 10 days).

I've got the VTR fan swap and exhaust wrap still to install. Still to order are the BMC filter, PCV, and AutoTune.

Going to be a good summer!

I have the M-2 V.A.L.E. system on my 2009. It has exceeded my every expectation, in terms of quality of manufacture and the sound it produces.

From all the testimonials I've read they say it is a big improvement for every scenerio, except stop and go traffic.

Ebay- came as the whole radiator fan assembly (fan blade, motor, housing, and connections) $65 shipped to my door.

I slightly hate you. I woke up yesterday and I saw a bright sunny day outside. Jumped up, threw on my jeans and jacket, grabbed my helmet and gloves, ran outside and jumped on the bike pulled out onto the street and realized... Holy fuck its cold!!! I hadn't checked the temp yet. So I pulled out my phone, 35*. I could only stand it for about 25 minutes because all I have is summer gear.

I want to move to Cali so bad...

Well, the only times I can't ride are when it's too hot or when it's raining, both of which happen here in summer. Winter here is accompanied by mild weather and clear skies.

No idea. The fan blade is the only thing that needs to be swapped. I just wasn't able to find the fan blade only.
