Hey guys. First time posting. Yesterday my bike just died after warming up for about 3 min. Nothing works. The clock comes on with the ignition off but goes off with it on. Checked the fuses and battery and they're fine. Does anyone out there have any advice. It a 2000 with 30,000 mls. Never had any problems before.

You didn't post any voltage values, so we can't really know what you have, but i'm going to guess you have a weak battery--you didn't mention how you determined that it was good. But you can measure the voltage with everything off, then when the ignition switch is on, to see how far down the voltage gets pulled--i'm betting it has lost it's stuff. If it measure less than 12.7 with everything off, then it is suspect to be weak or bad...

you're probably just measuring surface voltage on the battery when you say it's "fine". Under a load, the voltage probably falls to near zero.

based on the known problems with the VFR, you probably have a charging system failure that drained the battery to the point where the bike stalled.

put the battery on a good trickle charger for 24hrs. See if it restarts normally. If so, diagnose charging system problems. You can verify the charging system is functioning by using a volt meter - run bike to 5000rpm and test at battery for 14.5v

Hey guys thanks for the help. Checked all the fuses and they were fine. Took the battery out and had it tested. Turns out it was bad. Got a new one and now my bike works fine. Appreciate the help.
