I'm 41 and have always liked sport tourers. From my V45 Sabre to my VFR, I think that the more neutral riding position and tractable power of a 750 or so engine is perfect for almost every kind of riding. I see me being on my VFR for quite some time.

That paint scheme is very MV Agusta. I like it.

I'm guessing you've either not been married long enough to learn, or married for so long that your wife, just like mine, realizes you are too ugly to have another girl.

49 years old as of last month. In July, I will buy the new blue 2012 VFR. I had a VF1000F in 1984 and regretted selling it after college - had to, 'cause I didn't have any money to get to my new job here in Texas. Currently I am riding a Suzuki SV1000s and I won't sell that sweet bike, but I've always wanted to have a Honda V4 again.

While the VFR isn't quite what I was expecting, I did test ride the red 2010 version last summer and totally loved it. So, as a present to myself, I am going to relive my 20 somethings!

It is almost hard to believe, that Honda or the other manufacturers have been slow to give us a V4. I feel the same way about small diesel trucks and cars here in the US. What a market just waiting to be tapped!

    Can't wait till the summer....

I'll be 51 next month and have been riding since I was 8. Lots of dualsports and sport bikes.

Last year, finally bought an ST1100: Boring, heavy, all the soul of a washing machine
Traded the ST for a BMW GS: heavy, slow, ugly
Sold the GS and bought a VStrom 650: Amazing engine for its size but I had to close my eyes and sneak up on it because it was so ugly.
Sold the VStrom and bought a '95 VFR 750: Life is good

The older I am the faster I was....

I am 61 and recently traded an 08 CBR 1000 RR for the new VFR. I have been riding since I was 16 and have always enjoyed the ride, no matter what brand or size. I always say that riding is my mental health activity. When I get cranky, my wife tells me to go for a ride and if I am really bad, she tells me to go away for the weekend. Last year I rode from NC to CA to do the PCH - something that has been on the bucket list for years. After I was gone for a couple of months, my wife suggested I might think about coming home....

I am blessed with the bikes, the health to enjoy them, and a supportive wife. A man can't ask for more.

    Sredder,
May I be so endowed mentally and physically when I get to your maturity (less than a decade away).
Two months off to ride, wow I have a hard enough time to take two days off for a decent ride. Granted
Hawaii does not have the geographical volume for such a distance ride as yours last year. It definately
would be a dream bucket list for me. Been on the PCH before but not on a bike. Must have been great.

I also look to riding as a mental health activity. For me lately, it is not really the time to go riding
so much as the energy to do so. I don't feel mentally alert enough, and am drained from work.
I guess its part of the time to ride syndrum? Ride Well.

    Age...

It helps to be retired. You know - 6 Saturdays and a Sunday every week. The last couple of years I worked were incredibly stressful also, and felt I aged about 10 years. I decided then that I needed to retire and go play. I settled for less money in order to retire early, but looking back, it was worth it! The only major activity I still have in the bucket list is to go to the Isle of Mann. Maybe next year - 2013. I am trying to convince my wife to go, but she has no interest whatsoever and pleading and begging has done no good - just like in most other situations.

The key is finding something on the Isle that she DOES like...some place that is known for something that she likes or has as a hobby...quilting, antiques, collecting something, etc. Or if nothing on the island itself, something on the mainland nearby.

Hi, I've just bought a VFR and I'm 52. The only challenge I had was after my first ride of a little over 400kms, my back ached for the next week. I never think you are too old to ride anything.

Aloha Bandit, Welcome aboard. I am also a relatively new member of the forum.
52 ?, I am older than you. It gets better as you get used to the ride. Just did
a 300 mile ride around the island with another club that invited me. Ride was mostly
in formation(staggered) and group consisted of just one other sport bike and about
10 Harleys. Rode twistys and single lane roads also. Had a thigh cramp at about
200 miles for about 3 minutes(on my '87VFR700). Got back pretty much exhausted.
Too much concentration on formation and speed(lack of). But it was a ride and I
enjoy riding. Been riding mostly sporty bikes for the last 15 years. It gets better
    (the Back), enjoy!!!
