    A long shot I know!

Messed up the cap sealing area on mine pretty bad.

86 Preferred but not required. No dents. Paint whatever.

    Thanks

    Scarcer than hen's teeth!

Keep in mind the '86 has a different petcock design.

Yeah, which is something I had to sort out with the current tank.

Going to nix the search for a new tank as a cheap, low mile 86 in much better shape than mine became available!

Buying another '86 really is a good option and probably easier to find than the tank itself. I do have a new in the box 1986 tank, but I can't even think of getting rid of it knowing how rare they are and that I might need it down the road. You'll have to post up some pictures of your replacement bike when you get it.

A new in the box '86 tank... amazing. Definitely to be guarded!

I'll certainly post pics. The replacement bike just needs new carb insulators and a fuel Y to get running. 9k on the clock. I'm quite excited, actually. Will be picking it up on the 18th, so expect pics then. In the meantime I have to figure out what to do with the current bike...

If considering parting out your current bike, please post. I'd be interested in the heads, if the cams and followers are in good shape. Thanks!

Hrmmm, It's kind of against my religion to part a perfectly good motor. I'll keep you in mind just the same.

I know. I even have 2 brand new in the box tanks for my 1986 VFR750 that I'm just sitting on. I came across them years ago and couldn't pass them up.

I would keep it for parts. Chances are the bike is worth less than $1K and if your new one is really that nice, then you may want to consider it.
