I have a pair of olympia winter gloves. Couldnt be happier. If the gloves are any indication of their quality, as touring gear, Olympia is definately tops.
I have the Olympia AST jacket. it's excellent. plenty of pockets. plenty of room. and in the cold, it's plenty protective. about to buy the pants. However, I use the Joe Rocket gloves.
I bought the Olympia Airglide 2 suit early last spring - jacket, pants and liners and all I can say is unbelievable. When riding early mornings in 25-40 degree weather I used to be cold no matter how many layers I put on - with a sweatshirt jeans and these things I'm comfortable no matter the temp - the liners totally block the wind. In summer without the liners the ventalation is excellent - I used to just ride in a t shirt now I can ride feeling a little protected against accident road rash. The jacket has good armor in the shoulders and elbows but you don't notice it except for putting the jacket on. I think I spent around $500 at the dealer, I'm sure you could find better prices online but I was feeling impatient. Best puchase I could have made.
Olympia AST jacket. the velcro strips on the wrists and neck give me the ability to tie it up tight against the cold. I rode to work on Thursday last, and had no trouble. And it was cold indeed. I'm 32 miles from work. I cross over a major bridge artery. no sweat. I'll say that it's really cool to pass cars at 85mph when it's 30 degrees F. AHHH! heated grips. but that's all I really need. waiting for spring.
I have some Olympia cold weather leather gloves that have held up well and were quite reasonable. Its not Held, but who is?
