I have a 6th gen that I am sad to say I had an accident in July. Well I couldn't see letting her go after the wreck. Even though I had my eye on a yellow 5th gen, any way I am putting it back together. I am finally getting it to working order, and my front turn signals are always on. When you use the left or right signal, depending on the signal you chose is the one that blinks. I can take a video if my explanation is not to par. If you guys have any clue on what this might be let me know, also I can post pics after the wreck if you just want to see the pictures.

On a different note I want to get mirrors with the turn signals that are integrated in the mirrors. Has anyone bought the type off of ebay, if so what is your opinion on them.

    Thanks

Good work putting her back on the road !

Did you plug in some wires wrong or have your dual-filiment wires crossed ?? Orange, blue, or green might be mixed-up somewhere. You may need to experiment.

Can't own a motorcycle if you don't have a voltmeter at home, especially the coming electric models, the bikes, not the voltmeters.

Hahaha it is amazing that's how Johnstown is know, however the flood is not what caused it. A lady with a van pulling out in front of me and brand new tires on my bike with 5 miles on them caused my mishap. I did forget to mention that I had to change a blown turn signal fuse. Do you think it has anything to do with a relay, and I havent changed the wiring harness or the signals. Also I do not have the headlight installed yet seeing that is one of the parts I still need to obtain. I am not sure if the headlights would have anything to do with it, but I figured I would fill in any gaps.

A wire shorted 12v+ to ground at some time, and that destroyed the fuse, not uncommon after crash damage. Do a very complete inspection of wiring in the damaged areas. Consult the FSM always, for it is the Holy Book of All Answers about your bike.

Thanks Squirrel and Rc, I will take a look at both tonight and see what I can find. On a unrelated note, has anyone removed the sight glass from the clutch cover. I want to powder coat the cover but I would like to remove the sight glass.

    Thanks

Are you saying that when the turn the key on the two amber lights in front come on and stay on, then when you switch on, say, the left turn signal, the left amber light flashes?
Because that is the way a 6th Gen (or at least an '03) is supposed to work.

(Actually as shown in the avatar to the left)
