Hey guys...what are you using front end wise as far as stands for your VF500F for front wheel removal? The ones with the small vertical pins won't work (I think) b/c there's no hole in the bottom of the fork. Also, the ones with the two "bumpers" that hold the bottom and the side of the fork leg won't work b/c the bottom caps need to come off each fork, and the axle drops out from the bottom. Anyone got a link/brand that works for them?

With my other bikes I've always used a trolley jack, underneath the belly pan/headers. Is there any reason I can't do the same with my VFR?

That Pit Bull IS a nice one! I saw those "pin in the steering head" ones, but wasn't sure if it would work on the 500. Thanks for the info. Do you have to take the upper fairing off to use it?

Pit Bull makes a nice stand for sure. When I ordered one, going on about six years ago, the order was taken by Charlie VanValkenburgh, the owner. I think they are still a relatively small company with the stands being made in the USA. Good stuff!

You'll need to remove the fairing and the horn.

Good luck with your purchase and let us know what you decide on.

Oh. Having to take the fairing and horn off is a design flaw in my mind. I'm out on the Pitbull one then. Not into making more work for myself. I'll keep looking...

Not sure about a design flaw, per se.

I think, for the VF500F, any folding front stand will require that you remove the fairing and the horn.

I could be wrong of course but if you take a close look at how these work you'll see that the fairing and horn will need to be removed. Taking the fairing off takes about a minute (it is four screws). The horn is easily removed as well.

Not saying that you don't have a point but at the same time it really isn't that much work.

Looks like a nice stand, thanks for the post.

It is a similar design to the Pit Bull stand. Fairly sure the fairing and horn (on the VF500F) would need to be removed if you went with this model as well.

For reference, the location of the horn on the 500:

I have a hunch that most front stands will require that this be removed before using.

yeah. And the ones that cradle the front fork leg have design flaws for the 500 too, I bet, from just looking at them.

Hey IC...what's the pin diameter size on your front wheel stand for the VF500F?
