    Hi guys!

    Im new to this forum so forgive me if I have missed previous threads on this subject, but I tried the searchfunction at least! :redface:

    I have just bought my first VFR. According to the framenumber it is supposed to be a ´05 VFR800. France market. (imported it to Sweden)
    According to my documents of the bike it is supposed to have 78kw, but as far as I have read it should'nt have 78kw untill ´06?

    So could someone please tell me how I can check what engine I have? Can it be read from the enginenumber? Or checked in any other way?

    Cheers!

    //Anders.

    DESCRIPTION
    For 2002, Honda recreated the Interceptor bit by bit, incorporating improvements into every facet while retaining the essential foundations. As a result, the VTEC(TM)-equipped Interceptor is now a markedly advanced, new-generation sport bike, and arguably the sharpest-edged street-going iteration yet. At the same time, Honda's engineers also reconfigured the Interceptor so it could accept a set of Honda-designed accessories--including hard saddlebags--to create a top-rank sport bike with true cross-country abilities.

    Thanks for the reply.

    I have got some more info during the day. It seems that France, among some others, didn't allow biked over 78kw, so all the bikes sold to this kind of countries had papers that said 78kw instead of 80. But there was nothing else that differed.

    But I also learned the differences between ´02-´05 and ´06-´09 today.
    In 2006 (at least in Europe) they launched a list of updates to the VFR. They lowered the RPS:m for witch the Vtec kicks in from 6800rpm to 6600rpm, reprogrammed the ECU(new ECU) to make the Vtec smoother, changed the fuelinjection to the same type used in the Fireblade.

    Cheers!

    Honda made those same changes to the U.S. model machines Anders,except they lowered the RPM's for the VTEC transition from 6800 RPM down to 6400 RPM.
    I believe they also added a white face to the tachometer gauge along the way and started using LED lights in the turn signals and tail lights.
