Ok i have some dings,Scratches and stress cracks in the fairing on my VFR, My winter project is to fix these, I ordered the PlastiFix repair kit below for the repairs.

PLASTIFIX REPAIR KITS from Aircraft Spruce

Now the questions, I am going to use the colorRite aerosol paint, primer, base and clear from the below link.
    Motorcycle Paint - ColorRite

My question is when i do this i am planning on fixing the crack then repainting that area, I do not want to paint the whole bike over but was wondering should i go ahead and clear coat everything? After repairing the crack primer it and paint it then scuff the whole thing and clear coat the whole thing? I am thinking that even though the paint will not match completely maybe by clearing everything it will blend better? Any thoughts or tips appreciated.

I have never used the plastifix stuff, but a repair is a repair. Alot depends on the extent of damage. Patch paint or just some panels is fine, but even with the color rite you may not get it "perfect". Since '95 your paint may really have some fade and not match up. I try to reshoot the entire bike with more common automotive paints. Easier to match if an "oops" happens later. Even with the plasstic repair you are likely to be looking at filler too. Even with fully wet sanding and re clear coat the bike color match may be hit or miss.

There are a lot of valid ways to repair the plastic on these bikes.
I usually grind the plastic thin on both sides (Inside and Outside) of a crack, drill a few holes in the panel then build it back up with epoxy and flox and or carbon fiber. My fairing on my VFR had mucho cracks and broken tabs.

I was lucky and found a rustolium paint that was a virtual match for the red.

I use a soldering iron for plastic repair with fairly good results. My only advice would be to sand the bits down to base plastic for about 1/2" around the crack area.

I normally use liquid ABS (MEK and ABS shavings) for most of my repairs. Grind out a "V" where a crack or joint is, then fill it with the liquid.

MEK inhaled or in skin contact is a powerful carcinogen probably best to avoid entirely.
