I put it on for a little bit of a gain, cost, and I don't need to replace it.

I put the K&N in, de-snorkeled and de-flapped the air box and now the last two fill ups were at the 190+ MI mark. Before I was filling up at ~175-185 MI. Most of my riding is freeway miles, with the tach between 5000-6000RPM when I'm cruising along and with traffic flowing. Since this is my "transport" vehicle, I'm trying to maximize my gas mileage so I usually do not take it into ALL valve territory unless I'm out playing i.e. On the week ends. I'm going to do some more fill ups and keep an eye on the mileage to get some more averages. Going to get the PCV installed soon too.

BTW, I have the Two-Bros M2 slip-ons in case you wanted to know what exhaust I had.

I de-snorkeled the air box so since I'm lazy at the moment what is de-flap ?? Do you like the two bros slip ons and is that the stash ones ? Thanks for the info. Just noticed that you have a ducc 900SS , had a 95 also and that has to be the biggest mistake of my life selling it for an engine for my 72 SS El Camino.Hint, thats my handle duccmann and will never change it, just a reminder of my huge mistake. Thanks again OOTVS

De-flapping the air box is when you remove the vacuum actuated flap in the air box. Essentially you plug the vacuum line and remove the flap and actuator. In my case I just secured the flap in the open position and removed the actuator. The Two-Bros I have is not the stash model it's the M2. It came with the bike when i bought it and was kinda shocked that the left side is an actual working canister, but does not get used. The pipe is a 4 into 1 and all feeds to the right canister. I really like the sound, although since I never had a chance to ride the bike with the stock cans in, I cannot give a report on the difference.

I have a buddy who had a 95 900CR and sold it a few years ago, and regrets selling it to this day too. I had mine in "moth balls" for a while but NEVER had the itch to sell it! It's now running great again and I take it out when I'm really wanting to have fun.

me too, seems like I used to get like 175, but I am not sure if that was on my 98, don't get anywhere near that now. Seems like I have to get some gas every 120-135 miles or so.

    K&N - yes
    PC - yes
but a ton of other stuff too, and replaced the pipes, mileage seems low, have a dyno map, but only after, no "before" version

My guess is the cheapest way to increase your fuel mileage is to put a larger front sprocket on. I think that the VFR is already geared low enough to handle the taller gear. I don't know if the stock chain setup has enough slack to allow the extra tooth but may be worth a try. I was going to try it with mine when I put on a new chain, since I'm at 20,900mi. right now I figure I'm about ready.

I put a 1-tooth smaller sprocket on my DR650 for trail riding and it is nice swapping back & forth without swapping the chain too.

I can easily get about 300 mile on a tank but fug I get so tired pushing I would rather just burn the fuel.

Reminds me. Oil change tomorrow. Must clean the K & N too. Been a while.

Strange. I am packing up my new Tourmaster Transition Series jacket and sending it on down to Tourmaster for them to do some testing on it. It is not keeping me dry in the rain. Did you sew right through the garment to the inside or have it stitched just to the outside layer? Tourmaster says the outside layer is not the waterproof portion of the jacket so if careful, we can stitch the crests on without compromising the membrane.

He just opened up the inside liner and stitched onto each sleeve at the top of the arm to just the outside layer. Already have had a few other VFR riders comment the patches and told them to go to VFRWorld and find the thread .
