Here in Hotlanta they have started putting the cable barriers up in the median of interstate highways after a number of rather grim head-on collisions when cagers lost control and crossed the median. As such they are a cost effective and elegant solution IF you are in an enclosed vehicle, but I shudder to think what they would do to a motorcyclist. I guess this is another good reason to avoid the slabs - I never use them when riding for fun anyway. Part of the joy of bikes is they make taking the long way around an attractive proposition! Back on topic, so far I am enjoying my PR3's much more than the stock Dunlop rim protectors they replaced. -VFRGeek
