I never buy the first year of any vehicle, and I wanted to see how the 2010 VFR did after delivery and some miles by buyers, but none of the honda dealers nearby have sold a 2010, and we're coming up on 2012 and I STILL haven't seen a 2012 (or 2011 for the matter) announcement.

Does anyone know what gives? Did Honda make a pot load of 2010's and do not need to make any more? Or is it the only year it will be made (one year like the B-King) and we won't see another?

They are still trying to get rid of 08-09's off at some dealers Motorcycles don't sell in a recession/depression and most banks weren't lending at good rates on them so people didn't buy them. Second unlike the rest of the world motorcycles are not what people get on for transport every day. Last I think honda should have tried a different colors, not everybody wants Candy Apple Metallic Honda Slut RED kinda would have liked to see the black.

As to the fate of it???? I don't know. I know I own one and it makes me happy I asked the same question before I pulled the trigger on it. I can also say this I'm not disappointed in any way.(It took a bit but its grown on me)

The rest of the world got 2011-12 its just there not selling here and they aren't going to bring more 2011's in if the 2010's are still on the floors of most dealers. Honda uses its dealer networks as a product guide.

Now the CBR250 has no problem selling (I think) so its really not looks of the bike. Its more pricing issue.

Maybe that is US recession's (worst than in Europe) fault not Honda's. At least in Finland they have sold quite a few especially 2010. I just bought one a month ago and can't be happier.

The thing it is that people are used to pay a lot for BMWs but when it is Japanise they think it should be cheap. I wouldn't want a K1300S even with half the price.

Yea I see alot of 10s still on showroom floors. Gotta move em before you bring new ones in. I dont necessarily think this stock is totally due to the bike itself or the economy 100% either. I do however think that Honda could have done a better stock setup on the bike. That 1st and 2nd gear restriction makes it a hard sell for someone taking a first time test ride on the thing. The jumpiness of the throttle in those gears just leaves a bad taste in your mouth for a 16k bike and they could have tried to make the oem exhaust sound better.

But getting back to my original thought.... When I first went to look at the VFR when it came out I went to a couple of local dealers that I have been to several times before. I have never had a problem getting a test ride. In fact a couple of them used their test ride program as a selling point. "Test ride anything!" they told me. But when I went into all of them they ALL told me that I couldnt test ride the VFR. I'm like "So you will let me ride a 30k goldwing but you wont let me ride this 16k bike?". Answer "Yup. Pretty much!". Me: "So you want me to drop 16k on this bike without ever test riding it?". Them: "Yep."

Finally got to test ride one in Ohio at a BMW dealer used. BTW I live in St Louis, MO.

    Go Cards!

I hope they discontinue it in North America but continue to sell it elsewhere.

honda needs to drop the price, 11,999 WITH BAGS! come on honda, we need the damn bags too (SIDE BAGS FREE). it is also two years old now. And give special deals on demos, I would totally buy one with a few miles on it. i test rode one.... awesome... but too much money. i only have 4700mi on my RWB 07. it would be hard to go into debt for that much, when the ol' vfr800 has been good to me.
