How many of these were made? Is it the rarity or condition bringing in the money?

I would say the rarity of the bike...it needs to be ridden that is it's biggest problem the engine probably has more hours on it than miles..... needs to be ridden........

If money was no object its worth it! WTF right? Me thinks that only either 200 or 500 were made. Back in 1990 they were twice the price of a 3rd Gen VFR, $15,000/ they had a team of three or four men assembling the engine and they signed the inner cases/bike has hand laid fibre glass and other kewel shit. I have seen a few of them on Ebay and Ebya UK. Guess times are tough and peoples need the bucks ; ) / Me, It would reside in the living room and be taken out on sunny days. Ride em dont hide em...

The guy at Glendale Honda in Ca rides an old 1986 750 he is the owner of the shop. He stated to me the reason why there were expensive he said was Harley was bitching about engine size so he said they capped most of the engines at 700CC but very few were imported with the 750 engine and it cost a grand more at that. Don't know how much truth was to it but being that he showed me his bike when I was looking for the VFR1200. He knew his stuff he was the service and sales guy that doesn't happen much now days.. Kinda wish he moved a little more on his numbers of bike I would have bought it there.

Oh side note. Thought the RC30 was full race and didn't come with head lights?

nonononono That was the 86 750. This is the RC30. The engine was developed as a 4 cyl vfr but when you take a closer look it has to oval pistons with each having two arms. Basically a V8. One BAD ASS MACHINE.

nononononono You're thinking of the NR 750 (RC 40) with the oval pistons. The RC 30's pistons are round just like any other bike. Still an awesome machine though!!

Still got head lights in the picture which makes me wonder if its a valid RC30 they came as full race trim with no lights I though? Even the book in the pictures says its a 750R which would indicate its a street prep bike. Just sounds like a questionable 30 to me.

The RC30's had to be homologated for world championship racing, therefore a certain amount (300 in the U.S.) had to be available for sale to the public. Hence the full complement of street equipment, turn signals , starter, headlights, etc. You could for a price buy all the race kit components for one through HRC if you wanted to race which is what most race teams did with the exception of the factory race teams . Those bikes were prepped in Japan by HRC. The RC30's came with gear driven cams, a 360 crank, titanium connecting rods, higher comp pistons and hand layed fiberglass bodywork. The 85-86 VF1000R. shared some similarities with the RC30 with factory fiberglass upper and lowers and a 360 crank. The 2nd gen VFR's have 180 degree cranks. There is no doubt that bike is the real deal. BTW the MSRP back in 1990 was $14995.00

I don't know I doubt everything most people say its this. But its really THAT. And you paid for THIS price when its really that He could have it Verified better for the price he is asking.

Plus were they putting the red wings on it then? Most of the vintage photos have the Gold wings. I might be wrong but why is RC30 on it and not 750R. Just small details but, It looks different than most of the pictures I have seen.

What's there to verify? The Vin is right there. The 90 model was the only year imported to the U.S. You may have seen pics of European RC's along the way with some minor cosmetic differences. The bike's official designation is VFR750R.
