1987 VFR Rear Cowl

Hello all! New to the forums. I am looking to purchase a rear cowl for a 1986 - 1987 VFR 700/750. My existing is cracked and missing a mounting tab. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. I live in the Phx, AZ area.

 

Fix it, Bunky, like most of us do.

Tabs can be reconstructed, and cracks can be plastic welded.

Rare parts must be preserved.

Good idea to check with Bob's Used in South PHX, but be prepared to pay.

 

Yeah, thought about the repair aspect. Figured I would try to see if anyone else has the part for sale first...sparky

 

This may sound like the babble of a retard but...........have you asked the local Honda dealer for one? Vfourwhore bought a left hand lower in blue brand new from his dealer.......I know it sounds crazy but he did........the white was a two year run and I have seen way crazier........I did buy a new kick stand panel for my gen 3 from my local Honda dealer and it came up as a bad number but asked them to call and got one. Worth asking aboot and if it does not come up as a valid part number (due to age) ask the parts manager to look into it.

 

White duct tape is all I got after that.

 

Keep checking e-bay, I found a seat and cowl there last year both in great condition. Also I believe VFR chuck is still on e-bay and he'll have one for ya

 

Yes, already checked w/honda dealer. Part is no longer avail. I have found several other parts right from the factory but not the rear cowl. I check Ebay regularly. Still waiting.

 

if you want to wait for ever... VFR chuck is known for long lead times..and when I say long, I mean like Great Wall of China long... some guys here have been waiting for parts for almost a year at this point...
