I see threads for the 6th gen and the earlier bikes but not for my 5th gen. I don't mean to start the dreaded tire thread that most forums seem to loath....but I need a rear tire.

I have a 180 55 on now..that looks to be the standard size. I want 'quicker' so I am thinking 170/60...Slightly taller (about 20mm in wheel diameter) and slightly narrower.

Would this be ok, ya think?

Leave the rear tyre at standard 180/55, for quicker turning try dropping the yoke through the forks a little 6mm to 10mm eg 8mm.

Like john said drop the forks through the triples few mm's until you are satisfied if this doesn't help a tail raiser. That will shorten the wheel base.

Or you could just take any Ducati for a ride. After that your VFR will feel positively nimble.
