i hear ya....luckily we weren't to busy at work and i got to watch the first race...good thing to seeing as how i am a Rea fan. Glad to see him back in good form with a proper machine underneath. I wonder if his bike broke in the second race because i wasn't watching.

So HRC is wanting Dovi to ride the LCR machine next year, while staying on HRC's payroll....???????? I doubt LCR has the resources to compete for podiums with the factory team, even if he is on a factory bike, there are some differences. For example I'm sure Marco's bike doesn't have a goodie or 2 that the Repsol bikes have this year. Dovizioso has had 5 podiums this year with 4 races left, Q'ed 3rd at Motegi today ahead of Pedrosa. I don't get it. Did Repsol not give HRC enough money to run 3 bikes next year? If that is the case whynot? There has been a Repsol bike on the podium every single race this year, and most podiums saw 2 Repsol bikes with the 3rd one usually right behind in 4th or 5th. For 2 years now Dovi has been the MOST underated rider in Moto GP.

At the risk of firing up BB for stating the obvious but must have been hard at Honda dropping back to 2 riders and choosing between Pedrosa, Stoner or Dovi. You'd guess from the points table it wasn't going to be Stoner and Pedosa is both a brilliant rider AND "Spanish" leaving Dovi being just a brilliant rider. Dovizioso remaining on the HRC payroll maybe their way of keeping him sort of happy and factory Teams eg Ducati from eyeing him off.

As usual the Moto 2 was excellent viewing, without giving away the pick of the MotoGP was the battle between Dovi and Simoncelli for 4th and 5th after their ride through penalty. Love Simoncelli's post race comment below:

" Today could have been a great day for us, the podium was there for the taking and maybe even more than that. I had great fun on the last few laps with Dovizioso though – yet another battle between us – and I am happy to have beaten him. It was great!”

The current buzz is that Dovizioso has two options...LCR without being paid or Tech3 with a satellite bike and a small salary. Simoncelli will have full factory support next season.

Was at the Twin Ring yesterday for the races, it was a good day and it didn't rain. The Honda Museum is something everybody should get to see, very impressive collection.

Its official, Dovi signed with tech 3. What a shame that HRC let such a talented rider go to not just another team but to a different manufacturer all together. I'm sure next year when Pedrosa breaks his collar bone again and is out for several races, HRC will be wishing they still had Dovi on the track getting a podium on a Repsol machine.

The obvious may be that some dudes are more interested in the internecine politics than the actual racing. Same dudes who follow fast guys into the heads hoping to score some pubic hairs as trophys.

y'know, you say that, but dont forget, HRC factory still has Stoner, and he's kicking ass and taking names this year on Honda's factory ride, not to mention the fact that after only one season, Rossi seems like he's DONE with Ducati, and the fact that they just can't manage to get a bike set up for Rossi's build nor style of riding, so I've heard rumor that Rossi is talking about an HRC team of his own sometime in the near future. Whether or not that pans out, it's sure gonna be interesting to see what the 2012 GP season brings!

This has to be one of the best motorcycle saves during a race of recent times.

Did you happen to catch Eugene Laverty's save in WSBK Race One this past weekend in Portugal John?
The trackside camera view was pretty violent but the onboard camera footage was downright scary. :scared:

Great to see Casey win at home track Philip Island and wrapping up the 2011 championship, shame about Lorenzo crashing out and losing part of his finger in practice and the slippery conditions near the end of the race.

Below is Linky to Lorenzos missing finger: ( Warning Link to blown up Pic is a little icky )

Marco Simoncelli was a great rider who always made the race a little more exciting no matter who he tussled with. :frown:

Terrible thing to happen to Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi my sympathies go out to them as well, had recently read in UK Mag BiKE ( Oct '11 ) an in depth interview with Simocelli where he came across as an interesting and thoughtful character who listed Rossi as a very great and long time friend and a big help in MotoGP and Edwards was on record as a fan and friend of Marco.
