    2000 VFR exhaust

Just purchased a 2000 VFR with 11,000 miles. Great shape. I want to change the exhaust to the "high" pipe that is closer to the seat. Any suggestions on brand or model? I can not find any new ones online.
    Thanks, Eric

    Hey Captain

Welcome to the club. Be sure to post pics of the new bike as I'm sure someone here will ask. As far as exhaust goes try checking out Ebay to see if you can find a good deal on a Staintune system. I'm sure just about everyone on this site will agree that Staintune makes the best sounding exhaust systems for the VFR. When I upgraded the exhaust on my bike I was attempting to be frugal as I was a new father at the time. I personally picked up a new slip-on system from Delkevic 18" for my 2000 and I think it sounds great and it looks really good as well. It took very little time (about two hours, I was trying to make it look just right) to install and the fit and finish was excellent.

Again welcome to the board and I know you will enjoy the new ride.

I have the delkevic on mine as well and really like it, I usually run it will the decibel killer in as i commute alot. Can't beat the price either. However, they currently don't make a hi-mount kit for our bikes as far as I'm aware. The staintunes are the best sounding if you've got the money.

Hindle still sells the high pipe separate if you have a can you like with a 2" slip fit.

    Party Pooper here

Stock is King. I'm sure you might remember the old saying "Noise Annoys"
back in the old days of motorcycling.
Quiet stock bikes create less social animosity with the public.

However, another consideration with the high pipe is the problem you might
have with soft saddlebags touching the hot exhaust.

^ 1) Reason I run my delkevic with the decibel killer in all the time, I can hear the wonderful V-four but it doesn't annoy people. 2) I was concerned about the hot pipe and my saddlebags so I steered clear of the hi-mount pipe. Only to find that I can grab the canister after a ride and it is only warm. Only the tip and obviously the connecting pipe get seriously hot.
