Hi all, nice forum you have here. My wife and I were Ducati owners (Me: 2001 M900, 2006 MTS 1000S, Her: 2006 M620).

We sold 'em, and wanted something quick, reliable, sport-touring for 2up sometimes. She'll decide if she want's her own again next year. I ythink I / We made a great choice.

I need some advice for parts:

    a) Windscreen
    taller and wider

    b) Mod / Clip-ons
    Higher (2-4"), and back (2-3")

Welcome aboard. I bought the same bike recently for almost the same reason, I kept my Duc though but my wife only prefers to ride on the VFR! You will find plenty of advice and tips here.

I just put on a set of Helibars but have not taken it on a long trip just yet but they do seem to make the ride a bit more comfortable with the short rides I've taken. They're not as high or as back as your looking for but others are sure to chime in soon with some other possibilities.

I'm getting the GIVI wind screen some time this week, at least it shipped on Tuesday from TX, so it should arrive tomorrow or Friday. So I can't comment on that at the moment. Check out twistedthrottle.com as they offer different windscreen options, or maybe even sporttour.com, that's where I picked up my Helibars.

    Cheers!

Thanks, still looking at screens, probably ZG Touring.
Saw the Helibars, could be good.

Beers for cheers! Not while I ride!

I'm not sure what you'll find as far as clip-on choices, but check this web site out to see what the theoretical change would do to riding posture.

Howdy, and welcome to VFRWorld. I too am a Ducati refugee, I traded a 900SS for my VFR. For bars take a look at Convertibars. Most adjustable product out there, if fairly expensive. They also sell extended cables if you want to make a big change. There are several choices for windscreens, what works best for you will depend a lot on your height and riding position. I have been quite happy with my ZG Sport Touring, but some folks around here have quality issues with ZG and prefer Givi. Enjoy the bike, and buy another for the wife!

    Thank you all for everything.

Unfortunately, I'm leaving. I went to pick it up today (first ride on it) and just found the riding position too sporty. Great handling, awesome power in high RPM. The transition into VTEC @ 4500-5300 was very noticeable and no torque below 5K. The handling was SUPERB, if I wanted a sport bike, this would be it. Just right power for me, great feel on the road and easy to ride.

The dealer took it back (30mi) no loss and I got a 2009 Ducati Multistrada 1100S new for $12,500.00 Added an extra 4yr warranty for another $1,100.00 and rode away happy.

You are great people here, and the 2009 Honda VFR 800 VTEC is a great bike, just not for me.

    Thank you, and stay safe.
