Is there any way I can tell when the fan comes on? On a warm day sitting in traffic I'm running just a tick above 1/2 on the gauge. Today while stopped I noticed my rpm's drop quite a bit and I was wondering if the fan would have anything to do with it.

 Saved, You should be able to hear it when it comes on. Mine sounds like a wind tunnel when it starts!

Legs is right you will hear it. I have the 86 750fg model and the last time it came on was on a day about 39c and it would have been over half way, but I can not remember a drop in revs.

Thanks. The drop in revs has not occurred again, even after running warm in traffic. I think I may have had some water in the gas or something. Everything has been doing good lately. Still haven't confirmed the fan running though.

    Cooling Fan

This may not be a good correation, but I have an 06 zx-10r Kawasaki. When the
cooling fan goes on, the engine looses some RPM. I attribute this
to the extra load that is being put on the alternator. eddie

If you feel right by the front of the bike above the engine below the gas tank you should feel some warm air blowing when the fan is on and nothing when its off. If you can't look in there and see the fans I mean.

You should ride the bike, then park it, leave it running, and look at the fan...is it coming on?

Good idea Mike. I will try that after the weather warms up again.
